there’s nothing like a blazer to make me (and my day) feel more put together. it’s been one of those days. hell, it’s been one of those weeks! and this outfit has me wishing i was sipping on a black & tan instead of merely wearing it. sheeesh, this girl needs a break. i’m so ready for the three day weekend and i’m hoping it’s filled with biking, cooking, listening to records, taking photographs, and above all, sleeping in. a museum day and/or visit to the botanical gardens will definitely be thrown into the mix as well. ah, we’re almost there. enjoy!
hi everyone! it’s been awhile. getting outfits shot has proven to be extremely difficult lately. i’m looking forward to longer days! about this outfit, i really enjoyed wearing it since the fabric and ease made me feel like i was walking around in pajamas all day. also, the details of stripes and polka dot tights, black and copper, finished with a top knot and red lips gave the look an edgy yet sophisticated feel. i have to note that this blog has helped me refine my style and learn, even more so, what works for me and what doesn’t. i feel most confident in classic looks (ahem, stripes, black, navy, seas of booties, high waist skirts) so i gravitate toward them. hey it’s always nice to have tried and true go-to looks, right?
p.s. i’ve gone on a monthly shopping budget that i’m really trying to stick to. but i had to tell you all that j.crew and madewell are having an extra 40% off sale. and yes i ordered something. damn it! went over budget by 30 bucks. fail.
i’m so tired! only three more days (including today) and then i have two weeks off! thank goodness. but i have at least 75 more essays to grade before i get my much needed vacation. anyhoo, last night i took a break from working and headed over to meet some friends at the cinch saloon on polk street. we needed to meet up to hash out the details for our little holiday party this saturday night. it was cold and i was exhausted, so jeans and a sweatshirt were all i was feeling up to wearing. the layers kept me warm though. now back to essay grading i go… wish me luck!
i love the color of these suede booties! i’ve been eyeing them ever since brian got me the black leather ones for my b-day. i think these just made the christmas list. and if brian just so happens to get me a pretty dress and the boots to wrap up and throw under the tree (hint! hint!) everything will be an additional 25% off, making the boots half off. yay! what’s on your wish list?! i’m starting my christmas shopping this weekend so brian better get on his christmas list! clearly mine is covered. haha! happy christmas shopping… and wishing!
let’s find each other on pinterest!
update: madewell put these boots back up to the original price, darn them! fortunately, i have a sneaking suspicion that they were already ordered. ah, persistence (he might call it nagging. i call it persistence).

sunday brian and i were heading to trader joe’s when we made an impromptu stop at an industrial corner in the mission. i thought it would be cool to snap some photos in that area, especially near the old mission police station. i’ve driven by it so many times thinking it would be a great place to snap some pics. so we finally did it!
i got this cobalt blouse in august when i was back home for a visit. one evening i took my nieces to forever 21 to buy them some back to school goods and i ended up finding something for myself (surprise!). the thing is i didn’t wear it until a couple of days ago which speaks to the fact that i really shouldn’t shop as often. well that’s easier said than done. old/bad/fun/closet rewarding/stress relieving habits die hard.
i love 70’s style! how about you? this mini dress hollered at me when i was shopping around at therapy. the print, colors, and cut on this vintage inspired frock really reminds me of that era. and my bag makes me wish i could go back in time and raid bianca jagger’s accessory collection (i’m sort of obsessed with bianca and mick’s style from the days of studio 54!).
one of my favorite things to do stylistically is incorporating something vintage into my outfits as often as possible. lately, that’s happening in the way of handbags and clutches.
me + vintage bags = BIG trouble.

“summer” has finally arrived here in san francisco and i’m stuck at work when i would much rather be enjoying a tasty beverage at the beach. sheeesh!
